Bio: Trevor Hoen's Biography-by Matlyn (thank you Lyn!)

This is Trevor Hoen, a 16 year old singer/songwriter from the small town of Yachats, Oregon. He has written over
100 songs, and has at least 1,000 songs in the working stages. His inspiration stems from the eras of Soul, Gospel, Country,
and R & B. He enjoys the music of such artists as: Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, Brian McKnight, Chris Brown,
Whitney Houston, Beyonce, and countless others. The artist closest to his heart, though, is Mariah Carey. A great
deal of her essence is engraved in the influence of Trevor's music. One of his favorite songs of hers, "Petals,"
is quite obscure, but Trevor never ceases to see the ingenuity and passion behind the often "forgotten" songs of
famous artists.

For being only 16 years of age, Trevor has accomplished quite a bit in his life. Besides having written over 100
songs, he is able to execute them with a truly remarkable voice. He has a range (depending on the day) from 3 to
3.5 octaves. He has traveled to such locations as Ohio, New York, and Alaska, and has sung at a couple high-end
events, including an immense talent show with an audience of 200+ people.

So, how did it all begin for Trevor? Well, at age 10, after hearing the breathtaking voice of Mariah Carey, Trevor
knew his dream was music, singing and writing. He began writing his own songs at the age of 11, and shortly after,
stunned his own family with his new talents. One day, he was singing in his living room, the first song he ever
wrote. His mother asked him if the song he was singing was from the radio. Trevor replued that he had composed the
song himself. It brought his mother to tears, and she told him that he had a great gift, and to use it! From
that day on, Trevor knew he was truly serious about pursuing his dream. He got one step closer to that dream in
2008, when he sent one of his songs to a songwriting company called "Paramount Group." Although the first attempt
was not successful, Trevor never gave up, and sent another song to the company. After a long wait, they finally
contacted him, sending him a contract to have a professional singer perform a demo tape of Trevor's song "Glance."
He was so proud, as was his family, who love the song profusely. Another success of Trevor's was that he took
part in the online singing compitition "Idol Search." He made it to the top 4 out of 28 participants. In general, this guy loves
to sing! He doesn't restrict his talent simply to events, but sings nearly everywhere he goes. Most everyone who
meets him loves and is amazed by his voice!

Besides having extraordinary talent, Trevor is blessed with a loving family and strong support system. He is from a
family of 8. He has 6 siblings. One of them passed at age 4. Trevor often babysits his siblings, too many times
to count, in fact. He grew up homeschooled, but attended public school from kindergarten to second grade, and for
a year in seventh grade. He was often teased by kids because of his emotion and passion toward everything he does,
being called gay, although he is not. But that didn't discourage Trevor, as he still actively pursues his dream,
not only starting a MySpace music page, but he also has a popular Youtube page where he performs not only other
artists' works, but also his own. He currently has 200+ subscribers, and scads of fans and supporters. As a fan,
friend, and subscriber myself, I have found him to be incredibly kind, humble, not to mention mature. He is also
unbelievably responsible and dedicated. Every time I comment on his vidoes or ask him a question, he is always
right there, efficient and dependable, showing communication skills far beyond his years. He also embodies genuine
gratitude, truly understanding that his gifts were sent from God. I hope with everything I am that this young
man is able to achieve everything he desires in this lifetime, because he deserves it. So, if you like what you
