Bio:
Rocquette is a female fronted kick-ass RockNRoll band in the tradition of Joan Jett, Avril Lavigne, Suzi Quatro.
About the same time at two different places of the Austrian countryside, lead singer Barbie Hardrock and rhythm guitarist Thomas M. Perry grew up in need of real guitar music, compiling dvds – Detroit Rock City, Back to the Future Trilogy, Roadie, Wayne´s World 1-2, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey just to name a few – and cupboards filled with albums of Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Ugly Kid Joe, GunsNRoses, Kiss, Twisted Sister, Poison, Pat Benatar,... They met each other at a casting for Barbie´s former band who were looking for a guitar player at that time. In early 2005, they started the band and came up with Rocquette as a brand for loud, hard, melodic guitar music.
A self-financed demo album called "Detoxic" in 2006 pulled chain reaction concerts nationally, and another DIY-record, officially released as the first Rocquette album „Too Fast For Love“ in 2007 attracted international interests.
Early 2009, Barbie and TMP decided to finally put another plan into action – therefore they hired a drummer (Jam Puffler), a bass player (Lars Sugar) and a rhythm guitarist (Big Alex Handl) – and in summer 2009 they jumped on their first international tour taking place in the United States. The selfmanaged roadtrip started in Las Vegas, NV, ended up in Houston, TX and awoke lust for more.
While they are preparing for another international tour in 2011, Rocquette are working on a new album. Booking is an ongoing process and any offers are welcome – please find all information under www.rocquette-music.com or Rocquette on Facebook and MySpace!. |
